All traffic through the country of Belize from Belize City, Belize to Chetamul, Mexico is being restricted due to a blockade by sugar cane farmers.

There is only one route from Belize City north through the country of Belize. This is the easiest route for human and drug smuggling as Guatamala will be robbed.
All tourism from Mexico to Belize and Belize to Mexico has to use this only road.
Sugar (especially white sugar) is the primary export of Belize to the U.S.
